The New Mexican

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan was out and about in Santa Fe again. This time around, Morgan was shopping at Doodlet's last Sunday after a brunch at the very popular CafĂ© Pasqual's. He purchased a skull and crossbones decanter with matching glasses. Interestingly, Morgan was confused with Robert Downey Jr. by folks in the store — an understandable mix-up if you look at their photos, and makes La Mitotera wonder if Morgan, not Downey, was the star spotted recently shopping at Jackalope. Shanghai delayed again
Shanghai's release date is reportedly pushed back again. This time to October. I just saw the following message in IMDb, on the Shanghai board. There was no link.

Shanghai Delayed Again

The Weinstein Co. has reportedly abandoned its demented plan to for Mikael Hafstrom's pricey World War II epic "Shanghai'' over the Labor Day weekend and will instead open it "sometime in October,'' says THR's Steven Zeitchik, who alludes to the studio's ongoing financial woes. If "Shanghai,'' starring John Cusack and Gong Li opened on the very crowded Sept. 5 weekend, it would have been going head to head with four other planned wide releases -- Fox's "All About Steve,'' Lionsgate's "Gamer,'' Overture's "Pandorum'' and Paramount Vantage's "Carriers.'' Not to mention the second weekend of TWC's own "H2'' (Rob Zombie's "Halloween'' reboot sequel) and the third weekend of TWC's "Inglourious Basterds.'' Those titles are supposedly staying put. at least for now. I have a feeling the heavily-subtitled "Basterds'' will move if TWC decides to relaunch the much-rumored reedited version of Quentin Tarantino's epic, which was tepidly received in Cannes, at the Venice and Cannes festivals. If that happens, it's altogether possible at least one of those fests will also accept "Shanghai'' (which was briefly on the ever-changing TWC schedule for last December) as part of the deal.
